ZIC Tech is a solo consultancy focused on one thing: making buildings and equipment work better by reading the data they’re already producing.

Most industrial facilities are drowning in sensor data and starving for insight. BAS systems generate millions of data points per day, but the tools to turn that data into actionable diagnostics are either expensive enterprise platforms or one-off engineering spreadsheets. We fill the gap.

How we’re different

We connect to real sensors. Not spreadsheets of monthly averages. Not one-time spot measurements. We pull live data from your control systems — BACnet, OPC UA, Modbus — and build physics-based models against continuous measurements.

We build your specific plant model. Not a generic template. We read your P&IDs, your point lists, your as-built drawings, and construct a graph of your actual equipment, connections, and control loops. Diagnostics run against this model, not against rules of thumb.

We quantify findings. Every fault comes with an energy penalty estimate and an avoided-cost projection. You can prioritize repairs by ROI, not by alarm color.

We’re independent. No hardware to sell, no platform to lock you into, no maintenance contracts on equipment we recommended. Our incentive is to find real problems and help you fix them efficiently.

Technology

Our tools are purpose-built for industrial diagnostics. We handle the full pipeline from sensor polling to diagnostic reasoning, using a combination of signal processing, graph-based plant modeling, and LLM-powered analysis. The technology is always secondary to the engineering judgment.
